Clam AntiVirus
allows you to take
control of your
email by being
able to block
viruses, whilst
the powerful
features of
SpamAssassin
help you identify
and block messages as SPAM.
The antiSPAM
package can be
controlled via the
built-in Cobalt
GUI or from
Webmin/Usemin
- if this is
installed on the
server.
The package
includes:

AntiVirus

SpamAssassin is a
mail filter used
to to identify
spam. Using
its
rule base, it
uses a wide range
of heuristic tests
on mail headers
and body text to
identify "SPAM",
also known as
unsolicited
commercial email.
This allows you to
take control of
email by being
able to identify
and block messages
as SPAM. The
package includes
an upgrade to the
users personal
section which
allows them to
directly edit how
they want to
manage SPAM. Also
included in the
package is a
command utility
for admins to mass
update all of the
users preferences.
Clam AntiVirus
is an
anti-virus
toolkit. The main
purpose of
this software
is the
integration
with mail
servers
(attachment
scanning).
It provides a
flexible and
scalable
multi-threaded
daemon, a command
line scanner, and
a tool for
automatic updating
via Internet to
keep the virus
database
up-to-date.
This is an optional
EXTRA
Webmin consists of a
simple web server, and
a number of CGI
programs which
directly update the system
files that control
this package.
It has been designed
to allow system
administrators
to easily control the
settings of
SpamAssassin and
Clam Antivirus
from a user-friendly
GUI.
Usermin uses a similar
web interface to
Webmin that can
allow the user to
easily perform tasks
like reading mail,
setting up
antiSpam or
configuring mail
forwarding. It is a
simplified version of Webmin
designed for use by
normal users rather
than system
administrators.
